I get the privilege to spend a significant amount of time with beautiful brides to be. It seems like there is an ongoing subject in the months prior to a wedding. I'm not only talking about which location, what kind of food, what color the bridesmaid dresses should be but how to prepare for a lifetime with another human being?
I think the answer to that is LOVE. You have to love yourself first in order to love another person. If you truly love yourself, you don't look to your spouse to complete you. Therefore you can give love unconditionally and without any expectations.
The second part is to understand that YOU are loved. They always say: the truth shall set you free. But what they really should say is: revelation of the truth is what really sets you free. It's easy to say: I am loved BUT it's a completely different thing to KNOW you are loved.
A person that knows they are loved, also know that circumstances don't determine their value. Your career, achievements, looks and life situations don't determine your value. Once you have a revelation of love, you can also proceed to love others including your spouse the real way.
I know what you're thinking: well how do I do this?! To be honest, there is no 10 step guide to doing this. My way is prayer. I pray to God to reveal His love for me daily. It's when you start to meditate on the right things in your life that you can let go of the wrong thoughts.
I would love to hear from you if you have any questions regarding this.
